Headline in today’s Kansas City Star reads:
$40 million laboratory is coming to Olathe!!!

I threw in the exclamation points in because not only is this good news for Olathe as far as jobs and prestige go, but also housing. You see, it’s a basic real estate principal that the more jobs there are, and are being created, the more housing will be in demand. Fewer jobs and you have a lower housing demand.
So with the coming of this lab by Fort Dodge Animal Health to western Olathe, along with US Bank’s announcement that they would be putting in a technology center, it really looks like Olathe is on the move!
By the way, the paper also points out that, and I quote:
…a corridor stretching roughly from Manhattan, KS, to Columbia, MO, is home to more than 100 companies accounting for about one-third of the $15.2 billion in annual global sales for animal health industry.
I guess I now know why Olathe created a BioScience Park!
